
James Andrew Hutchison of Farmington passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012, at
the age of 77 years. He was born September 19, 1934, at Palmerton, PA, son of
the late John Warden and Emma (Ziegenfuss) Hutchison. In addition to his parents
he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Hutchison, a daughter,
Sherry Hutchison Squires, and a son, James A. Hutchison, Jr. James grew up in
Palmerton, Pennsylvania where he graduated from high school and attended
college. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam
conflict. He retired from his Air Force career in 1974. James went on to work in
the mineral industry as a surveyor and as a Land Management Specialist for the
Bureau of Land Management. He retired from the BLM in 2003 and in his spare time
enjoyed buying and selling antiques as well as gardening, fishing and cooking
with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Park
Hills, Disabled American Veterans and was a friend of Bill W. for thirty-seven
years. James is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hutchison, his children, Pamela
(Bruce) Becksted of Minnesota, Steve (Judy) Hutchison of Farmington, Paula
(Bill) Salter of Minnesota and Jonathan Hutchison of Arizona, sixteen
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at
Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Saturday, January 14 at 11:30 a.m. with
Pastor Robert L. Eggers, Jr. officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a
later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the
Disabled American Veterans.
