Greetings:

  It’s been a exciting year as your department Commander. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to make all of the chapter meetings. That was one of the goals I had set. What one plans and what one is able to accomplish isn’t always the same. As your representative, my travels included national convention in Chicago, Illinois, Washington D.C. for Mid- Winter, D.A.V. headquarters in Cincinnati, 15^th District in Overland Park, Kansas and several visits to chapters for more than personal visits. Then there was this a little indifference as to which hospital southwestern Missouri Veterans should go to.

  I’ve met a lot of good folks in my year, both here and out of state. As my successor prepares to take over, I wish him the best for his year as commander. And  to assist in what every way I can. As I have relied on my line officers for their support and the support of the chapters to accomplish this task. Hope to see many of you at the state convention.

Our membership goal from National has been met.

Hoorah!!!

We have a lot of programs to help our Missouri Veterans. One of them has been going on for the past 8 months. It is Veteran History project. Each veteran is recorded telling their story of when they were in the service, on Tape and DVD. This will be sent to the Library of Congress in Washington D. C.

Along side this, we are doing video of the convention this year. When convention is over, give me a call for a copy of the Convention. You can show to members of your chapter.   Larry
